Each year Parthenon selects a handful of top MBA students to join our team for a ten-week period during the summer between their first and second year. Summer Principals are not just given the opportunity to see Parthenon up close during the summer - they are considered crucial members of case teams and become integrated into the culture of the firm itself. At the end of the summer, many are given offers to return as full-time members upon graduation.
Case Experience
Summer Principals are not simply observers of Parthenon during their
summer—they are valued members of the firm. To learn about Parthenon’s approach
to company issues and become acquainted with our unique analytical
tools, Summer Principals receive training at the start of their summer. Following
this training, Summer Principals assume full-time positions on active
client cases, in which they independently manage specific project workstreams,
client relationships, and often Associates. To support Summer Principals
during this period, full-time Principals serve as mentors to help with any
developmental needs. Summer Principals can be assured that they will receive
exposure to cutting-edge business problems and develop a great set of business
skills. Summer Principals are expected to make tangible contributions to
client companies in a short time period.
The Summer Principal Program concludes with individual presentations
to a large number of Parthenon Partners.
Summer Events
In addition to providing training and strategic advisory experience, Summer Principals
are actively integrated into the culture of Parthenon, attending company-wide
events such as the three-day annual summer company meeting along with Summer
Principal-specific activities.
In past summers, events for Summer Principals have included performances at the
Wang Center, Red Sox games at Fenway Park, concerts at Tanglewood and the Tweeter
Center, and dinners and lunches with members of Parthenon. These activities enable
Summer Principals to develop relationships with their peers, experience the culture
of Parthenon, and receive informal support throughout the summer.
