Summer Associate Intern Program
Overview
Parthenon believes very strongly in attracting, training, and retaining
the highest caliber Associates. Parthenon offers the Summer Associate program
to allow current college students an unparalleled opportunity to spend
the summer prior to their senior year learning about Parthenon and strategy
consulting.
Summer Associates participate in a ten-week program that introduces
them to the Associate role at Parthenon. Upon completion of the program,
Parthenon extends full-time employment offers to qualified Summer Associates,
many of whom choose to return after graduation.
Work Experience
In their first week, Summer Associates take part in a comprehensive
training program to equip them with the consulting “Tool Kit,” with
modules covering strategy, analysis, and functional tools such as Microsoft
Excel. These tools allow Summer Associates to learn about Parthenon’s
core business and to contribute immediately to their assigned case teams
over the remaining nine weeks of the program.
The Summer Associate Program concludes with individual presentations
to Parthenon’s Management Team.
Summer Events
In addition to the emphasis on training and actual case
experience, Summer Associates are given the opportunity to interact
socially with members of the firm, attending company-wide events
such as the three-day summer company meeting and Associate-specific
activities.
Past summers have included attending a performance of Miss
Saigon at the Wang Center, a Santana concert at the Tweeter
Center and a two-day whitewater rafting trip on the Kennebec River
in Maine. These activities allow the Summer Associates to develop
important relationships with one another as well as with their
mentors who provide informal support throughout the summer.
