Yutaka is the lead founder and Executive Director of Excel Academy Charter School, a tuition-free, public, charter middle school located in East Boston. In 2006, students in Excel's first graduating class outperformed students in over 90 percent of Massachusetts school districts.

Prior to founding Excel, Yutaka served on the management team of KIDS 1, Inc., a for-profit, school management company.

Upon graduating magna cum laude from Amherst College, Yutaka joined Parthenon as an Associate and was promoted to Principal during his three-year tenure at the firm. While at Parthenon, Yutaka provided strategic and operational advice to clients in a wide range of industries including the greeting card, beverage, publishing, and natural resources industries.
