What did you do prior to joining Parthenon?

I worked at Parthenon prior to business school and returned as a sponsoree.

What do you think differentiates your career as a consultant at Parthenon from your peers?

One difference I have seen at Parthenon that I think really sets us apart is the ability to take on responsibility quickly in an environment where there are relatively low levels of hierarchy. You have the opportunity to interact with clients and own client relationships much more quickly and your exposure to the partnership group and senior leadership is unparalleled at other firms.

What would you say stands out about your colleagues here at Parthenon?

The people at Parthenon are among some of the brightest people I have ever met. People here love intellectual challenges and are not satisfied with mediocre answers. It’s really a privilege to work in the company of such smart, hardworking individuals.

What was your favorite case?

My favorite case so far has been working with a large commercial printing client whose senior executives wanted to understand the future of the book printing market. We were asked to form an opinion on a market at a time when no expert had a solid opinion given the volatility and uncertainty around the emergence of disruptive technology. In order to form our own perspective, we did a large general population survey to understand consumer reading behaviors and appetite for e-books and e-readers, built macroeconomic forecasts for printed books, and modeled the impact of potential market outcomes on the client’s financials. It was an in-depth case with some great analytical components that pushed us to form opinions on a very new, emerging business problem.

What do you like about your home office’s location?

The view from the 31st floor of 555 California is incredible. On a clear day, you can see many of the city’s best landmarks. I’m also a VERY avid skier, hiker, and road biker and there are lots of opportunities to get outdoors in the Bay Area and the surrounds.
